The Veil Challenge Nakita covers Vitligo – Veil Camouflage Makeup
The auto-immune deficiency vitiligo, a condition where the skin loses its natural pigmentation and becomes white, often causes sufferers embarrassment. For Nakita Grady the problem is not just embarrassing, it is affecting her career. The 22 year old from Norfolk wants to be a professional model. That’s a dream many young girls have but for Nakita it could become a reality but for the vitiligo. She was told by the modelling agency that she was perfect and could have a future as a model but she would have to find a way to cover up her elbow which is badly affected by loss of skin colour.
Modelling is a harsh environment where perfection is standard. To be told she could make it in this tough industry if only she didn’t have vitiligo was hard for Nakita to take. The rejection knocked her confidence badly. “I tend to wear long-sleeved tops and carry a bag over my arm to hide my elbow,” she said. “I’m a sun-junkie and love getting a tan but I hate how it makes my vitiligo stand out more. And people think you’re strange if you go round in a long-sleeved top if it’s boiling hot.”
Nakita heard about Veil Cover Cream via social media and decided to take the Veil Challenge and give it a go. She tried it out and by mixing two shades together got a perfect match for her skin. It was she says, “a life-changing moment.” She is so impressed by the cream’s qualities that she has got her confidence back and is going to give modelling another go. She said, “Veil could give me the confidence to push through. It could take from my freelance admin job to a modelling career. The way it covers up my vitiligo is so impressive that I feel like I can get my arms out again – I won’t have to worry about getting a tan anymore. This stuff is awesome. It could actually change my life.”
